The scale must be placed on a hard, flat surface in order to obtain an accurate weight. Using the scale on carpet is not recommended. In some cases, changing the batteries can fix the issue. If you are still receiving a weight that you know is inaccurate, you may use your personal scale or your estimated last weight if possible.
